The Stockholm Tar has its own very smokey smell, which is pretty prevalent in the soap.

Pine Tar has been used traditionally for a lot of skin conditions (like psoriasis, eczema, flaky scalp and dandruff and others).
For this soap we used Stockholm Tar (pine tar) at 10%.

This description about Neem Oil is copied from my suppliers webpage -(Pure Nature):
"Neem oil has a long history of use in its native country of India where it is used extensively. It is one of the most popular medicines in the Ayurvedic tradition which regards it as something of a panacea. Neem extracts are also used in agriculture as natural alternatives to synthetic pesticides, the compound Azadirachtin is largely responsible for this action.
Neem oil has traditionally been used for a myriad of skin complaints ranging from infections, through to baldness. In Ayurveda it is regarded as a Pitta pacifying agent making it useful for hot, dry conditions such as eczema or pruritis. "

For this soap we used Neem Oil at 10%.

Soap ingredients:

Saponified oils: (organic Tallow, Avocado, Castor, organic Coconut, Neem Seed Oil, Pine Tar Oil, Shea Butter). Water, Glycerine*, Essential oil, Sugar, Citric Acid
Essential Oils: Fir Needle and Eucalyptus Essential Oil

*Please note that I don't put any extra glycerine into the soap - this is just the glycerine that is created naturally during the soap making process.
According to NZ labelling rules the final ingredients of a product have to be listed.

Other ingredients:
For this soap we used organically grown (not certified) sheep tallow from a farm here in the Marlborough Sounds.

The Shea butter is the yellow, unrefined
(description from my suppliers - Pure Nature - webpage:
"Our Ghanaian, unrefined Shea is a heavenly creamy, soft and silky Shea that is hand-made in rural Ghana. Made the traditional way, the crushed Shea nuts are roasted over an open fire so the finished butter has a mild smokey smell.
Yellow Shea gets its colour from the addition of the bark from the Borututu plant
(Cochlospermum angolensis) which is added during the boiling stage. Borututu is used in traditional medicine and has been shown to have antioxidant properties."
