Upcycled Creations – Our Special Second Chance Soaps
We like to keep things simple, useful, and low-waste. These bars are made from scraps left over during our regular soapmaking—carefully re-melted and blended with a new fragrance.
They’ve been curing in our dehumidified cupboard since mid-April—well beyond our usual minimum of 4 weeks. But due to the added water and the remelting process, they might still behave a little differently:
The texture might be slightly softer.
They may not last quite as long as our usual bars.
The scent is a bit lighter or more subtle.
We’re offering them at a special price to reflect their unique characteristics and our commitment to reducing waste. Each bar is still handcrafted with care and provides a lovely, gentle cleanse.
They weigh more than our usual bars.
Blue soaps about 112-114g
Pink soaps about 115 - 122g
Saponified oils: (Tallow, Coconut, Rice Bran, Olive, SunflowerHO, Castor). Water, glycerine*, Fragrance oil, mica
*Please note that I don't put any extra glycerine into the soap - this is just the glycerine that is created naturally during the soap making process.
According to NZ labeling rules the final ingredients of a product have to be listed.

Pink Soaps:
French Lavender (Zen Aroma)
Lavender bouquet enhanced by clary sage, patchouli and rosemary.
Sugar Plum (Zen Aroma)
Subtle plums, dark cherries and sweet oranges enhanced with peppery woody undertones.
Blue soaps:
Nag Champa (Zen Aroma)
Nag Champa fragrance oil has the aroma of incense; patchouli, sandalwood, and dragon’s blood working together to create this wonderful heady blend.
Properties of oils / materials used:
| Tallow | Provides excellent hardness to soap for long-lasting bars. Produces a creamy lather with good cleansing properties. Contains skin-friendly vitamins A, D, E, and K. Natural antioxidants help protect the skin. |
| Coconut | Creates a bubbly and effective cleansing lather. Adds firmness to soap bars for durability. Contains natural antioxidants to provide some skin protection. |
| Olive | Offers gentle cleansing with a soft and luxurious lather. High oleic acid content makes it superb for nourishing the skin. Rich in vitamin E, a potent antioxidant for skin protection. |
| Sunflower Oil (High Oleic) | Contributes to a creamy and stable lather in soap, enhancing its cleansing properties. Rich in oleic acid, sunflower oil helps nourish and soften the skin without feeling greasy. Contains antioxidants such as Vitamin E, which may help protect the skin from environmental stressors. These properties of high oleic sunflower oil make it a valuable addition to soap, offering cleansing, nourishing, and protective benefits for the skin. Even better - this Sunflower oil HO is produced here in New Zealand. |
| Rice Bran | Balances cleansing and nourishing properties. Provides a creamy lather for a pampering bathing experience. Contains vitamin E (tocopherols) and gamma-oryzanol, natural antioxidants for skin health. |
| Castor | Attracts moisture to the skin, ensuring hydration. Enhances lather and bubbles for a satisfying wash. Contains vitamin E and essential fatty acids for some skin nourishment. |
| Citric acid | in your soap serves a dual purpose. It helps your soap perform well in hard water by preventing mineral build up, ensuring a rich lather. Additionally, it acts as a natural preservative, extending the soap's shelf life for a longer-lasting product you'll enjoy. |
| Sugar | Added to soap recipes to increase lather and bubbles. Acts as a natural humectant, attracting moisture to the skin. |

| Fragrance Oils | The fragrances we use come from reputable sources and are phthalate-free. (Phthalates are synthetic chemicals sometimes used in fragrances, and they have been linked to potential health concerns such as allergies, skin irritation, and even disruptions to hormonal balance.) |
